You have a stag night coming up, and the guys have decided to go away for a weekend of partying. Sounds like pure fun, right? Well, not just yet. Before the bachelor party fun can begin, the guys will need to square away some logistics from transportation to accommodation, time off work, and so on. Oh, yes, and let’s not forget packing. Now, the last thing you want is to set off and find yourself missing a couple of items you will need for the weekend. Yes, you can buy them at the destination, but is that really what you want to be doing on your friend’s last weekend of freedom? Probably not. So what do you need to bring along? Here is your checklist (share it with the guys).

1. ID/Printed Copy/Picture of ID on Phone or Passport

Regardless of where you are going, always bring along some form of identification. This can be your identity card or your passport. Carry the actual ID if possible. If not, bring a printed copy and a picture of it on your phone and email. If you are taking a trip abroad, your passport is a must-have. If you feel this is one of those trips that might take you anywhere, have your passport, just in case.

2. Emergency Contact Numbers

You will be planning for a smooth trip where all goes as planned. However, the uncertainties of life might shake up the best-laid plans. Unfortunately, you cannot do much about this but plan for emergencies. One basic way to do this is to have an emergency contact number. Everyone should give their emergency contact to someone else in the group. Also, have his information with the staff at the hotel you will be putting up at during the bachelor party.

3. Cash

Cash is king. We know this part seems a bit obvious, but hear us out. You might be tempted to bring your credit card as this will handle expenses. Unfortunately, credit cards are not as flexible as cash. Think of remote stops on your way, tips, and so on. Cash brings some unparalleled convenience to things, doesn't it? So have some cash in different denominations. But this doesn’t mean you should leave your credit card at home…

4. Credit Card

As you use cash to settle small bills, you still need your credit card for bigger payments like your accommodations, air tickets, and so on. Credit cards are also excellent to have on such trips. For example, you might decide to stay longer than anticipated, help a pal out financially, an emergency can occur, and so on. In addition, a credit card is a safer, more compact way to have extra funds on you.

5. Gatorade/Hydration Packs

A great bachelor party is synonymous with alcohol. Lots and lots of alcohol. And we all know how it goes the morning after. Several bottles of Gatorade and hydration packs should form part of your bachelor party supplies. Then, when the guys wake up with a hangover and fatigue, you will be the hero that saved everyone's day.

6. Snacks

Snacks are a must-have on any trip. They can help you be patient for meals and can even help you pass the time. If you are driving out to your destination, you will, at some point, wish you had brought some snacks along. As part of your bachelor party supplies, buy and pack jerky, cheese, potato crisps, soda cans, biscuits, crackers, and dried fruit. Find out beforehand if any of the guys have special requirements like peanut allergies or diabetes, and get a few appropriate snacks for them.

7. Playing Cards/Card Games

Granted, bachelor parties and bachelorette parties are not events where you are likely to sit around playing poker and other board games. But don’t write them off just yet. These can be a lifesaver on long drives and trips, layovers, stopovers, and so on when you need something to fill your time. Also, after heavy partying, some or all the guys will need a little downtime, even for a couple of hours. A deck of cards will come in handy during such moments. Similarly, you can structure some fun party games around the cards. Oh, so many options.

8. Sunscreen

If the plan for the weekend is outdoorsy or in the summer, you will need sunscreen. No need baking in the heat and then going back home with uncomfortable sunburns after a wild weekend. Instead, try and get a good 24-hour protection sunscreen. You can apply this in the morning before setting off without worrying about reapplying it.

9. Chapstick With Sunscreen

Don't forget lip care, especially if you are out in the sun. There is something strange about road trips that causes uncomfortable, dreadful crusty dry lips. Don’t get caught up. Whether taking the road or flying, get a chapstick with sunscreen and waterproofing in case you have swimming and other water sports on the trip itinerary.

10. Bug Spray

This is essential unless you want to sit and swat at bugs all night. Unless you are indoors with all creature comforts, bug spray must make your bachelor party supplies packing list. If you are camping or glamping: bring two bottles. You can't let a few pesky bugs ruin the party atmosphere.

Groom and friends in Sunglasses
11. Sunglasses

We have all seen group photos or solo ones with lots of squinting. Naturally, you don't want to be that guy during the bachelor party weekend. Aesthetics aside, good-quality sunglasses protect your eyes from the sun's rays, which is good for eye health. Also, if you travel by road, you will be amused at how the sun can always find its way into your eyes. So pack sunglasses for the cool factor, eye health, and road safety.

12. Pen/Notepad

Whether you need to take down directions, the weekend itinerary, contact information, or jot down ideas, you need a pen and notepad. For easier packing, get one of those options where a notepad comes with a pen attached.

13. Hand Sanitizer

If Covid has taught us anything, it’s that we need hand sanitizer everywhere. Hand sanitizer is a quick way to eliminate germs on the move. If you are on a long road trip passing through remote places and don't want to stop or can't, sanitizer is very handy. Remember those snacks you packed? You don’t want to handle those with dirty hands. See? You need sanitizer.

14. Music Player/MP3 Player/Notebook Bluetooth Speaker - So You Don't Tie Up Your Phone

You will need music. Even if you fly to your destination, chances are you will get a rental car when you arrive. You do not want to take any chances with those long boring rides. So bring a music player and a Bluetooth speaker. You can also bring headphones when you want to wander off into your head with your own music. Don't overdo this, though, as the premise of the trip is to bond with the guys.

15. Advil/Tylenol/Alka Seltzer/Pepto or a Basic First Aid Kit

Name it: a tummy or headache, an upset belly, a cut, fall: these are the things weekend parties are made of. Chances are that one unfortunate person will need some medication or to dress a wound. As such, take one for the team and carry these essentials. Also, ensure to have a few bandages in the first aid kit.

16. Phone and Phone Charger

If you are as attached to your mobile phone, it’s unlikely that there is a possibility of it being left behind. Phone chargers are often a whole other ball game. In a survey, 24% of respondents admittedly forgot their phone chargers when going on trips. Granted, you will likely have someone you can borrow from, but it’s always so convenient to have your own on the stag weekend.

17. Weather-Appropriate Clothing

Have a variety of clothing to have your bases covered unless you are sure about the climate to expect. Include athletic wear for outdoor activities, evening attire that will work with most dress codes, and some casual clothes you can chill in. When we break down, pack some vests, t-shirts, dressy shirts, a blazer, formal pants and some jeans or casual pants. You should pack enough for multi-night stays.

18. Athletic And Casual Wear shoes

Similarly, pack shoes to pair with athletic wear and a pair for dressy outfits. Also include some casual shoes or sandals for hanging out at the beach or the hotel.

19. Swimwear/Cold Weather Outerwear

Do you plan on some water activities while you are away? If so, bring your swimming trunks, swimming goggles, and other essentials. Also, remember that there will be some nighttime activities; otherwise, this will not qualify as a stag night getaway. As such, it might get cold or breezy in the evenings. You can never go wrong with some cold-weather outerwear, even if it's just one dark-coloured jacket or trench coat.

20. Socks/Underwear

A couple of undergarments are a must on any trip. Pack some underwear and different types of socks. The latter will be dictated by the shoes you pack.

21. Extra Towels - Vacation Rentals Will Not Have Enough

Extra towels are one of those less thought-about items that you regret not carrying. Extra towels always come in handy if you are holed up at a hotel or vacation rental. Having one or two on hand will ensure you have clean, crisp homey towels should you need them.

22. Toiletries/Grooming/Hygiene

You will need to pack toiletries and hygiene products, especially if you're staying in an Airbnb. However, you might not need these as much if you stay at a hotel because most hotels provide these to guests. Still, feel free to bring a few toiletries and grooming products if they will improve your entire experience.

23. Bring Shampoo/Soap/all-in-one shower stuff

While a hotel might provide this, it's advised to carry small bottles of shampoos, soaps, body wash, and all-in-one shower gels, just in case. This is more so if you are camping, renting a holiday home, or staying at an Airbnb. If you have sensitive skin or allergies, it's best advised to bring all your shower items.

24. Toothbrush and Toothpaste

Some establishments will again provide you with toothpaste and a toothbrush. Often, these toothbrushes are not always the best quality, as they are expected to be used for a day or two. Instead of taking your chances with this, pack your toothbrush and your preferred brand of toothpaste before you hit the road. Aside from the hotel itself, you might need oral hygiene in transit. Having your oral kit will be useful in such instances. 25. Deodorant Looking great over the stag party weekend is one thing. The other is smelling good. So pack your deodorant, colognes, and anything else you need to help you smell the part. With all the people you will be meeting outside of your group, it's important to put your best foot forward in every way.

26. Wet Wipes

Wet wipes are for multiple uses. You can use them to freshen up, wipe cutlery, and clean your hands before eating or snacking. These are a must-have on long and short trips. Find a brand with a good balance of wetness and creaminess so that they don't dry out your skin. And bring a big pack, too; chances are someone will need one every time you pull them out.

27. Hair Gel

If you have some length and tame your hair with gel, bring a tub with it.

28. Shaving Cream/Razors

Depending on how quickly your hair grows, you might need to bring shaving cream and a razor. On the other hand, if your stub seems to grow overnight, you don't want to lose out on festivities to go out looking for a barber shop in a strange city. A shaving cream of your choice ensures you are not trying out new brands that might cause your skin to break out.

29. Eye Drops

You might have eye drops for known allergies and infections. Other people get eye discomfort from too much dust or a change in weather. If you are one of these, ensure to pack a bottle of eye drops for the trip.

30. Chewing Gum, Breath Mints

Research tells us that we drive better when chewing gum than when we are not. Interesting, right? This is one reason to bring along a pack of chewing gum on your weekend away. Aside from the driving, chewing gum and breath mints offer a subtler way to freshen your breath. After tons of eating or drinking, it helps to have something that can freshen you up quickly before you get back to your room. You can comfortably consume garlic bread and other foods without worrying about your breath.

31. Disposable Camera

A disposable camera is a camera you can use once and dispose of. It's handy and affordable, which makes sense for road trips. A long trip where alcohol is possibly involved is not the kind of trip you want to bring your expensive professional camera to. You will, of course, have your camera phone on you, but you need a backup for when it runs out of charge or is charging.

image
32. Worst Case Scenarios

You want a fun, uneventful trip. However, things can go out of hand during a guy’s trip. It, therefore, never hurts to have some bail money stashed somewhere should you or one of your mates need it. So aside from your credit card and some loose cash, have some cash in one of your suitcases. You are not to touch this unless something drastic happens. Bail cash makes the cut.

33. Health Insurance Details

Pack your health insurance card, and look up some list of provider’s en-route and at your destination. This will help you get medical treatment easily, should you need it.

34. Earplugs And a Sleep Mask

If you are a fussy sleeper, don't take chances with your rest and recuperation time. You can never be guaranteed to get a dark, quiet room to sleep in. You can get ahead of this by packing good-quality earplugs and a sleep mask. This way, you can get good quality, uninterrupted sleep whenever you wish.

Final Take on A Bachelor Party Packing List

This list will help you pack everything you need to pack for a successful bachelor party. At times, it's better to pack things you won't use than regret not having packed them at all. So pack everything on this list alongside your sense of adventure!
